eli, eli (אלי, אלי)

$30.00

Eli, Eli (אלי, אלי) is a poem written by Hannah Szenes, that was arranged into a popular Israeli folk melody by David Zohavi. This melody is popularly associated with Yom HaShoah, which is the Israeli day of Holocaust remembrance. I wrote this arragement for the George Mason University Religious Studies Department's International Holocaust Remembrance Day program. The idea behind this arragement was to convey the emotion that Zohavi's melody portrays, along with portreying the idea of "Never Again" that is so deeply ingrained in the message of Holocaust remembrance.
